ideas FOR HEALTH is a new research and education cluster based at the University of Waterloo with a focus on promoting ideas – innovations in data, evidence and application systems for the health sector.
ideas FOR HEALTH levers Waterloo’s existing strengths in the health sciences by engaging in leading-edge research and education activities designed to enhance Canada’s capacity and international reputation in the area of health informatics and health information systems. In doing so, ideas FOR HEALTH provides, a unifying brand for a wide range of health-related projects at Waterloo that touch the lives of Canadians every day.
Housed in exciting new space at the north entrance to the Waterloo campus, ideas occupies the first dedicated footprint for health informatics research at Waterloo - a space that has been uniquely designed to promote interaction among graduate students, faculty and partner agencies by including such features as a smart room, an innovation showcase, and a collaboration zone.
ideas FOR HEALTH also provides a platform to support the collaborative initiative of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and the Faculty of Mathematics to deliver graduate and undergraduate education programs in health informatics.
